Going Crazy!

Ok, so I feel totally lost and ready to pull my hair out. Beginning my first year of teaching in November has been a total nightmare for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, but I have had the hardest time trying to get everything organized and in it's place. The teacher before me decided she wanted to up and leave at the end of the second six weeks, leaving me with stacks of papers and one word document with information about the "problem" kids. When I first interviewed for the job I was SO excited! HA! The second grade teachers warned me that it would be hard and that some days I'm going to want to cry. Well, I can successfully say that I have only sat in my room and cried once! Matt has been so sweet to me, even when I come home grumpy. He really does keep me sane when I feel like going crazy. Last night he helped me grade papers! We will see how long that lasts. :) Well, I should probably go get lesson plans ready for tomorrow. I will be probably be at school until 6 or 7 for the rest of the week. Yuck! But, hopefully after that I will feel more caught up for the new year. We go home Friday!! I cannot wait until Christmas when I get to sleep in (yay!), eat lots of good food and spend time with my wonderful family and friends.

West Texas Polar Express

Last night Matt and I went on the Polar Express in Lubbock! It was so fun! We went with Matt's work and a lot of families went. We sat with Matt's friend Cory and his family. His son, Carson is going to be the ring bearer in our wedding and he is SO adorable! When we got there, we got on the train, found our seats and set off for the North Pole! We got hot chocolate and a sugar cookie and the train was decorated with garland and presents. When we stopped in the "North Pole" Santa and a couple elves got on and talked with the kids and gave out bells. We also sang a couple Christmas carols! We got some good pictures, but my camera died towards the end. When we got off the train it was snowing a little so that added to the fun! I love Christmas and cant wait until school is out so I can enjoy time off :) Ill leave you with some pictures!

My new blog!

Hello everyone! After doing much blog stalking..I am so excited to finally have my own! Well, I will start out talking about tonight. Matt and I went with our friends Deanna and Mark to the Carol of Lights at Texas Tech! Matt and I love going and it has (sort of) been a tradition of ours over the years. I love going and getting in the Christmas spirit. It is so neat to see our beautiful campus lit with so many beautiful lights!! Now we are hanging out at my house and Matt is studying heavily. He has a final tomorrow at 7:30 am-YUCK! I am so proud of him and how hard he has worked while in grad school. He is so determined and next semester will be his last, thank goodness! Then we will be married and be able to both be on a more "normal" schedule. Speaking of wedding, there is so much to be done over the holidays! I am looking forward to getting together with all of my bridesmaids for the fitting and registering with Matt :) Then, my mom will be in town and we are going to be able to get SO much done..I cant wait until she comes, she has been a huge help with wedding things. Well, I am going to go and try and convince Matt to watch Elf with me (as if I haven't watched it enough lately!) But I just love it!! Happy Holidays Everyone!
