13 Months

Porter, you are 13 months old! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by and how much you've grown!!! Here are some highlights:


- You are slowly starting to fit into your 12 month clothes. You still wear 9 month sometimes. You are little!

- You weigh 21 pounds and at your one year appointment you were 50% for height and weight. That's a good place to be!

- You are still in size 3 diapers.

- You sleep 11-12 hours a night and take 1 nap a day (you just transitioned) and they have been 2-2 1/2 hours a day!

- You are getting a little bit more picky about what you are eating, but you love fruit, chicken, avocados, and spaghetti. You also love to snack all day!

- We made the transition to whole milk at one year and you love it. You still nurse once the morning and at night.

- You LOVE bath time. We can't wait to take you to Florida in two months and watch how you react to the ocean! You are a water baby :)

- You are VERY outgoing. (Imagine that!) When we are out, you are constantly smiling and waving at people and laughing to try to get their attention. It's the funniest thing to watch. You're definitely a ham!

- Your vocabulary is starting to grow. You say hi and bye bye, go (your first real word), dog and hot. You can also mimic pretty well, especially when we aren't expecting it!

- Things you love right now: Maddie, your stuffed animals, daddy's tools, mommy, books, and shoes.

- You may love mommy, but right now you are all about doing things with daddy. Whatever he is doing, you also want to do. I love it!!!

- We just got a zoo pass and I can't wait to take you all the time! You love all the animals there, especially the elephants!

Just thinking about you growing up brings me to tears (that might also be the pregnancy hormones!) But staying home with you to watch you grow and enable your learning has been the best decision I have ever made! I love watching you grow and interacting with you each day. I hope that you always know how much daddy and I love you. When baby brother or sister gets here, I hope that we can still make you feel as special as you are. You are our first baby and we will always cherish you!

12 Weeks and Happy St. Patrick's Day

I was 12 weeks Friday...which means I'm now one week away from the second trimester! I am so excited and ready to feel good again *hopefully*! We go Tuesday to check on the baby. I know it's only been a year, but I forget what we do in these check ups, so it'll be neat to go through all of the monthly visits again!

Yesterday, Porter and I went to the stockyards for St. Patrick's Day festivities. Matt went out of town for a guys weekend, so it was just P and I. There was TONS of people there!! They had a petting zoo and we met up with Porter's friend Oliver and went into together. Porter loved looking at and petting the animals. He even tried to feed them. I'm not sure he quite understands what you do in a petting zoo, but he sure did like looking at and petting the goats and llama's!

At the end of the day, we watched the parade. I think Porter's face says it all. He was tired and ready for the day to be over!! We had a blast though!!

10 weeks

I am 10 weeks and 3 days today, so I thought I'd share a picture. I still feel really nauseous if I'm not eating all the time and am really tired almost ALL the time!

This pregnancy, I have been having growing pains a lot earlier than with Porter. But that's good, because it means the baby is growing in there!! We go to the doctor again in 2 weeks and I can't wait to see how the new baby is doing!

Porter's growing vocabulary

In the past month, Porter has started to mimic us more and more. It's so fun to hear his little voice start to say things.


Porter's favorite words to say are hi and go. He also has said, "lets go", bye-bye and ball. He still babbles a lot, but we have found if we say things to him, sometimes he says them back to us! I just love watching him grow!!

Expecting Baby #2

On January 20th, we got the news that we were going to have baby # 2. We are thrilled that our kids will be so close together! We are praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby, and we cannot wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!

I went to have a sonogram this past Tuesday and saw this-

 

A sweet little baby! It looks like a little gummy bear to me! It's heartbeat was 185 (WHOA!) and it sounded like heaven. 

I have been SO sick this pregnancy and it is very different than when I was pregnant with Porter. I guess because I am chasing him around all day too. Hopefully the sickness will subside in a few weeks. 

Dear Baby,

We are so excited to welcome another child into our family. Even though we don't know what you are yet, we love you so much already!! We are already trying to fantasize how you and Porter will be together and what your personality will be like. We just know that Porter is going to be the best big brother to you!! The three of us love you very much!

Porter turns ONE

I cannot believe I just typed the words Porter turns ONE. ONE. I cant believe he has been here a whole year and I actually can't remember what life was like before him!

We threw a Yo Gabba Gabba party for him and he loved it! Especially the cake!! It was so good to see all of our friends and all the kids running around.
 

Susan, Matt's mom, got the cake and the cupcakes for Porter and they turned out absolutely adorable!!

We had a wonderful day with our little monkey. We couldn't ask for better friends and family!

2 Months

Like usual, I am behind on posts! I should have posted this ONE month ago..but I started back to work and have been really busy. Having a baby is exhausting, but working with a baby is even more exhausting! I am happy to announce that once this school year is over, I will be staying home with Porter.

But, back to the sweet little man who occupies all of our time!

Porter was 2 months on April 2nd!

You still love to eat :) You are also still eating every 2-3 hours during the day.

You are sleeping in 5-6 hour stretches at night, with a few nights going 8 hours!

You weigh 13 lbs. 6 oz. and are growing like a weed! You still fit in 3 months clothes and some 6 month. Goodness, you are a big boy! You are in the 90th percentile in weight and 98th percentile in height. I think you'll be big like daddy! You are in between sizes in diapers, so I have you in a size 1-2.
